The FY MMS students of Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies were given a project “Doing Best with the Waste” under the CSR subject. Students prepared attractive products by recycling daily use materials and prepared products such as chandelier, stationery stands, flowerpots, bad-dream catchers, etc. from waste products like thread, plastic wrappers, plastic containers, coconut shells, paper, etc.
Learning: Students learned how to reduce carbon footprints by reusing various articles thereby reducing waste and creating a sustainable environment. They also understood that if successfully executed these products could be sold commercially too.
Feedback: Director Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi, Faculty, and Non-teaching staff encouraged the students to recycle and create environmentally friendly products. The Director asked the students how they had made those products, their use, and the challenges faced while making the products.
Students were enthusiastic and created a lively environment. All of them put on a fantastic show If our developments are not sustainable, then it means we will come to suffer at some point. It may not be us, but future generations will undoubtedly do.
