Celebration of International Women’s Day
Maratha Mandir’sBabasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies organized the following events for celebrating International Women’s Day on 8th March and 9th March 2022:
a) Event on 8th March: A demo on simple karate moves for women’s protection was given to the participants by one of our students (Ninad) who is a qualified Karate expert. He explained the various techniques of freeing oneself from an unwanted grip in case of an attack by a stranger. Several female students participated in learning these techniques and could successfully implement the same during the demo. The students found these very interesting and useful to learn and requested the Director to organize a session each week for them to learn some more techniques / brush up the ones already taught, and use them for self-defense when required.
The above session was followed by a cake-cutting ceremony by the students along with the Director, faculty, and staff of the Institute. The mood was very joyful and harmonious.
b) Event on 9th March 2022: A guest session on “Safety of women” and “cyber-crimes” was conducted by PSI Pooja Gangane who is the In-charge of the Nirbhaya Squad at the Nagpada Police Station, along with her colleague Constable Sujata Sonawane.
