Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi’s book titled “Understanding Strategic Management Theory and Practice” was released in the seminar hall of the Institute. The book was released amidst the faculty, students, and staff.
This book aims to provide a brief presentation of the theories and practices of strategic management globally. The strategy-making process ends only with effective implementation. The book presents a backdrop explaining how good strategies help companies to set goals and objectives for gaining a competitive edge and managing their resources efficiently. The book consists of research-based theories and examples. From the definition, scope, and school of strategic formulation, the book covers various matrices and models, so the content is authentic and coherent. The book follows a logical and sequential chapter scheme which includes conventional and latest tools with practical strategy analysis.

Hence, the book can be used as a recommended textbook by universities and B Schools. The author has twenty-five years of sales and marketing experience in the industry at the middle management level. The author has presented multiple caselets as examples to define the terminologies and concepts in the subject. Dr. Hattangadi says she has learnt more during her lecture.
