Convocation 2022
Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies celebrated their Convocation Ceremony (which is also called Degree Distribution ceremony) of MMS Batch 2019-21 on Saturday, 9th July 2022 at the institute’s auditorium. The ceremony began with the procession, Maratha Mandir prayer song and lighting of lamp.
Chief Guest for the ceremony was the charismatic President of Anjuman-I-Islam, Dr.ZahirKazi and Guest of Honour was CA – Abhijit Deshmukh, partner of Sanjay Rane& Associates.
The Director of the Institute, Dr. Vidya Hattangadi welcomed the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour and she introduced them to the audience.
Dr.ZahirKazi gave an enlightening convocational address. He said that world over India is being recognised as a country of opportunities. Government of India through many schemes is giving incentives through MUDRA loans to start-ups and MSME loans with tax incentives. The present world is full of opportunities as post COVID the job opportunities have increased. Dr.Kazi also spoke about a paradigm shift in thinking; he said that scientific, technological, and management advances are percolating into diverse areas, including healthcare, entertainment and media, sports, leisure etc., and increasingly becoming inter-disciplinary transcending boundaries of each business sectors with focus on sustainability. Management has gained attention because it offers all necessary tools to equip one with the necessary techniques of successfully handling various business and strategically related issues.
Dr.Kazi told the young graduates “be Indian first; however successful you all become never forget your motherland. Be proud to be Indian because our country is among the top 4 nations in the world, today rest of the world is looking at India for growth synergies.”
CA Abhijit Deshmukh in his address spoke about David Herdlinger’ sK.A.S.H. Box as a performance coaching tool to illustrate that poor performance is not just a lack of knowledge and skills, but also poor attitudes and bad habits. The K.A.S.H stands for Knowledge, Attitude, Skill, and Habits. He went on to describe how each job profile requires specific knowledge, attitude, skills, and habits and that is why organizations search for the right candidates to fill positions. Good organizations never compromise on any of these criteria.
The students received their degrees at the hands of the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour. The function went well. The students were beaming with fulfilment and joy!
