The Women’s Development Cell celebrated International Women’s Day on March 7, 2024, in collaboration with the ‘Niine Foundation’ to raise awareness about women’s health issues, particularly cancer prevention and treatment. The event featured Dr. Sunita Jadhav, a former Medical Social Worker at Tata Memorial Hospital, as the guest speaker.
Dr. Jadhav delivered an engaging presentation on various aspects of cancer, including prevention, treatment, causes, types, and the impact of lifestyle choices. Stressing the importance of early detection and healthy living, she emphasized dietary modifications, regular exercise, and avoiding harmful habits like smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
The event, attracted a diverse audience of staff and students. Dr. Jadhav’s expertise resonated profoundly, empowering attendees with knowledge to make informed decisions about their health. The collaboration with the ‘Niine Foundation’ underscored our commitment to promoting women’s health within our institution and the community. The foundation distributed free sanitary napkins. In addition to the above, a self defence session was conducted by Ms. Suchi Saroj, a National Level Taekwondo Medallist, practicing from last 13 years, as Asst. Coach and Student of Royal Fighters Taekwondo Academy, Vasai. The event was attended by 48 students from SEM-2 and 10 students from SEM-4, 11 members from staff & faculty.
