    • Kargil Diwas

Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies organized a webinar to commemorate the 22nd Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26th July 2021. The session was conducted by Brig. Shashank S. Dahat, a veteran of Kargil War of 1999.

Brig. Dahat enlightened the participants about the historical significance of Kargil for India and Pakistan. He provided a comprehensive timeline of all actions that eventually led to the war and discussed the political as well as military stand points before the war begun. He also shared several anecdotes of his own personal experiences during the war.

The session also looked into the various lessons of leadership that one can learn from the efforts undertaken by Indian Defence Forces, especially the Indian Army, during the war. Brig. Dahat spoke of the leadership thought process and culture of the Indian Army and how they can change the current corporate environment for better results.

The webinar saw participation from faculties, students, alumni, representatives from corporate and academics as well as trust members.

The event concluded with a brief Q&A session and a vote of thanks from our Director.
