Ozone Day 2024
About the Event
To mark World Ozone Day, Green Club Committee of MMBGIMS organized an interactive initiative where students were tasked with reading articles on the importance of the ozone layer and designing posters based on their findings. This activity aimed to promote research-driven learning and creative expression. 50 students successfully designed and uploaded their posters on Teams, each reflecting unique insights on ozone protection. The remaining students shared thoughtful ideas and practical suggestions to help safeguard the ozone layer.
Learning & Feedback
The event fostered a deeper understanding of the ozone layer’s critical role in protecting the Earth from harmful UV radiation. Students learned about the dangers of ozone depletion, the impact of human activities on the environment, and steps we can take to reduce damage. Through this process, they developed not only a better awareness of global environmental challenges but also enhanced their research and presentation skills.
Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive, with students appreciating the opportunity to engage in such a meaningful activity. They expressed that the exercise helped them realize their potential as advocates for environmental conservation, encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly practices.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Ozone Day event successfully achieved its goal of raising awareness about ozone protection while equipping students with knowledge and creative tools to take meaningful action in their communities. We displayed the creatives made by students of batch 2023-2025 on our social media handles. The initiative highlighted the power of informed youth in driving positive environmental change.
