A webinar was organized for SEM IV students on Thursday, 28th Jan 2021 for Research Methodology. The speaker Dr.Sameer Phanse is an individual Marketing and Political Consultant, with nearly 25 years of multi-sector industry experience in consultancy, strategy, and research. His book ‘Research Methodology: Logic, Methods and Cases’ published by Oxford University Press is popular and is used by majority researchers.
Dr.Phanse emphasized on what are the common advantages of primary data and its importance in terms of its authenticity, specific nature, and up to date information while importance of secondary data is to back up viewpoints of other researchers on the same topic. Primary data is very reliable because it is usually objective and collected directly from the original source.
An advantage of using primary data is that researchers are collecting information for the specific purposes of their study. In essence, the questions the researchers ask are tailored to stimulate the data that will help them with their study.
Dr.Phanse also told the students the biggest fact that today industry prefers managers with research aptitude and how to treat the SEM IV 300 marks dissertations. The webinar was highly appreciated by SEM IV students.
