About the Event
All Clubs HR/ Marketing/ Finance/Systems of MMBGIMS recently hosted a Policy Drafting Competition aimed at developing and refining institutes strategic policies across various domains including Human Resources (HR), Marketing, and Finance. The competition featured presentations from SY MMS students who conducted a comprehensive competitive analysis of management institutes within Mumbai University to draft relevant policies.
The competition was judged by two esteemed alumni of MMBGIMS: Mr. Vivek Satam (Batch 2022-2004) and Mr. Gaurav Rathod (Batch 2007-2009)
The competition comprised three primary categories:
HR Policy: Focused on the development of policies for staff and faculty management.
Marketing Policy: Aimed at enhancing the institute’s market presence.
Finance Policy: Concerned with budget allocation and financial management.
Systems Policy: Ethics in IT and usage.
The students’ proposals were assessed based on their innovation, feasibility, and alignment with current standards.
The HR Policy draft emerged as the winning entry. The judges were particularly impressed by the comprehensive approach and practical applicability of the HR policy developed by the students.
During the subsequent Q&A session, Mr. Gaurav Rathod expressed his admiration for the quality of the HR policy. He extended an offer for a HR Live Project to the winning team, which involves research and formulation of HR policies for his own business over a duration of 45 days. Additionally, he offered a Marketing Live Project to the marketing students for promoting his business.
The judges reminisced about their college days at MMBGIMS and delivered an inspiring motivational speech, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and adaptation in professional life.
Our Director Prof Dr. Vidya Hattangadi expressed gratitude towards the judges by presenting them with bouquets. Her gesture was appreciated by all attendees and highlighted the institute’s culture of respect and acknowledgment.
Learning: Students gained an understanding of the importance of competitive analysis and policies that make the institute stay competent.
Feedback: Students realized the significance of thorough research and took the feedback of the judges positively.
Conclusion
The Policy Drafting Competition at MMBGIMS was a resounding success, showcasing the students’ skills in policy formulation and strategic thinking. The engagement of esteemed alumni as judges and the subsequent offers of live projects reflects the high calibre of the students and the strong industry connections fostered by the institute.
The event not only provided valuable learning experiences for the participants but also reinforced MMBGIMS’s commitment to bridging academic knowledge with practical industry applications.
