Independence Day Celebration
On the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, the Cultural Committee of MMBGIMS organized a vibrant celebration for students on 14th August 2025. The event featured a range of engaging activities that allowed students to showcase their talents and express their patriotism. A total of 49 students and 9 staff members enthusiastically participated in the celebration.
One of the highlights of the event was a poster-making competition, where students creatively depicted themes such as independence, unity, and nation-building. Alongside this, students took part in selfie and reel-making activities with the Tiranga, actively promoting the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign through their social media platforms.
The cultural program served as a heartfelt tribute to India’s rich heritage and honored the sacrifices of freedom fighters. Students performed patriotic skits, dances, and songs, capturing the essence of nationalism and pride. Thought-provoking speeches delivered by students emphasized the vital role of youth in shaping the nation’s future.
The official flag hoisting ceremony was held on 15th August 2025 at the MMBGIMS campus, attended by faculty and staff members. Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech, reflecting on India’s journey to independence and highlighting the responsibilities of every citizen in building a stronger, progressive nation.
Learning Outcomes
The celebration helped students develop a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural significance of Independence Day while enhancing their creative, artistic, and digital media skills through various competitions and online engagement activities. It strengthened teamwork, collaboration, and coordination through group performances, and also improved public speaking, confidence, and articulation in front of an audience, making the event both enriching and memorable for all participants

Students shared that the celebration was both enjoyable and meaningful, providing a platform to merge traditional patriotic expressions with modern creative formats like reel-making. The event was appreciated for its inclusivity, energy, and the opportunity it provided for cross-programme collaboration.

The Independence Day celebration at MMBGIMS successfully combined cultural heritage with contemporary expression, creating an atmosphere of pride and unity.
