World Senior Citizens’ Day
The Community Service Unit of MMBGIMS organized a meaningful event on August 21, 2025, to celebrate World Senior Citizens’ Day. The event aimed to honour and learn from the wisdom of our elders by encouraging students to connect with senior citizens, especially their grandparents, and document their life experiences through short video interviews. This initiative sought to strengthen intergenerational bonds and instill respect for the elderly.
As part of the celebration, students took part in an interactive activity where they connected with senior citizens and recorded short video interviews capturing the elders’ life journeys, experiences, and values. The activity aimed to foster respectful and enriching dialogues between generations, highlighting clear communication and empathy. The completed videos were submitted and shared as a tribute to our senior citizens.
In recognition of their valuable contributions and participation, appreciation letters were also given to the senior citizens, expressing gratitude for sharing their time, stories, and wisdom. This thoughtful gesture added a personal touch to the event, making the elders feel truly valued and celebrated.
