Introduction
The Induction Programme for the MMS Batch 2024-2026 at MMBGIMS, organized by the Cultural Committee on 19th September 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 02:00 p.m., served as a formal introduction for the new batch to the institution’s academic and cultural environment. The programme was attended by the 118 students of the MMS Programme and 10 teaching staff members.
Objective
- To familiarize the MMS Batch 2024-2026 students with the institute’s values, academic framework, code of conduct, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- To provide students with an overview of the various extracurricular activities, events, and placement opportunities available at MMBGIMS.
- To help students understand their personality types and how self-awareness can enhance teamwork, leadership, and personal growth.
- To equip students with insights on how to leverage their unique personality traits for better decision-making and career development.
About the Event
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through knowledge. This ceremonial activity was led by esteemed dignitaries, including the Director of MMBGIMS, Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi; the Dean, Mr. Ajit Parab; the Registrar, Mr. Yogesh Sawant; along with Mr. Yatin Gharat, an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator, and the student representative, Mst. Rohan Singh.
Following the lamp lighting, the Director, Dr. Vidya Hattangadi, addressed the students, extending a warm welcome and highlighting the importance of discipline, dedication, and curiosity in their academic journey. The students were then presented with a detailed orientation on the institution, covering the academic activities, events, code of conduct, placement opportunities, and the various cultural and extracurricular engagements that form a vital part of life at MMBGIMS. This segment of the programme helped students gain a comprehensive understanding of the academic and personal development avenues available at the institute.
A key highlight of the Induction Programme was a session on the “Myers–Briggs Type Indicator” (MBTI), conducted by Mr. Yatin Gharat, a Certified Professional Facilitator. This interactive session focused on personality types and how self-awareness can be a powerful tool for personal and professional growth. The students were deeply engaged, with 65 students from the MMS Batch 2024-2026 and 53 students from the MMS Batch 2023-2025 actively participating in the session.
Conclusion
The session concluded with a lively discussion on the implications of personality types in teamwork, leadership, and career planning, leaving students with valuable insights to carry forward throughout their MMS journey. Overall, the Induction Programme was a resounding success, setting a positive tone for the students as they embark on their new academic journey at MMBGIMS.
