INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY
The International Youth Day was organised by the cultural committee with the theme to promote Speed Management and Road Safety while Riding. There were 7 riders along with their Bikes – 4 Royal Enfield and 2 Super bikes and one faculty member. There were 35 students for the event.
ACTIVITY DETAILS
- Presentation on Safety gear and the spirit of Riding with a cause was given by one of the riders Mr Hansel.
- LRMC group of 4 Royal Enfield riders demonstrated the right Safety Jacket, Shoes with Steel Toe, Knee Guards and the Right Helmet and factors to keep in mind while selecting the same.
- The LRMC group has done a lot of CSR activities, the recent one being donating 100 helmets to Zomato Riders.
- The Super biker Mr Melwin D’Souza runs his YouTube channel – Melo Rider and promotes riding as a stress-relieving activity.
- Mr Melwin stressed the importance of servicing the bike regularly and following the rules while riding the fastest superbikes and carrying the required tools and First Aid box. He also appealed to students to earn and start saving for their dream bike.
- The students had an interactive question-answer round with the Bikers.
- A short interaction was done explaining the history of our Institute for Melo Rider – YouTube channel.
- A rally from our college to Wockhardt Hospital with placards educating on Wearing helmets, Dos and Don’ts while riding. Three students and Mr Aakash Rebello were pillion riders and Ms Sadiya Fuggawala joined the riders on her Royal Enfield.
- E-Certificates and Appreciation letters were handed over to the Riders for their valuable input and time for our event.
- The Nagpada Police staff clicked pictures and took a note of the event.
- Breakfast was served to the Police officials and the seven bikers.
