Meri Mati Mera Desh
In a heartfelt tribute to our Braveheart men and women, the “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign was carried out with great enthusiasm at Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies as part of the ongoing Amrit Mahotsav festivities since August 15, 2023. This initiative, inspired by our Honorable Prime Minister, aims to honor the sacrifices of those who fought for India’s freedom and its continued progress.
On October 12, 2023, the students, faculty members, and staff of the institute came together to mark this special occasion. The event took a poignant turn as each participant brought a small amount of soil from their own homes, which was then collected in an Amrut Kalash, a symbolic earthen pot. The day continued with a Kalash Yatra within the campus, carrying the pot filled with the soil as a symbol of unity and reverence for our nation’s journey. The collected soil was used for a purpose that embodies growth and remembrance – tree planting. In a moving gesture, these newly planted trees were named after the Amar Shaheeds who lost their lives in the tragic 26th November 2013 terrorist attack in Mumbai.
A total of 106 students, along with the entire teaching and non-teaching staff, actively participated in this event, underlining the institute’s commitment to the ideals of patriotism, remembrance, and progress. The “Meri Mati Mera Desh” campaign at Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies not only paid tribute to our Bravehearts but also demonstrated the unity and determination to continue India’s journey towards freedom and prosperity.
