Student Development Cell
Introduction
The Student Development Cell of Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies (MMBGIMS) organized a heartfelt tribute on Kargil Vijay Diwas to honor the unsung heroes of the 1999 Kargil War. The primary objective of this event was to instill patriotic values among students and enable them to appreciate the bravery, valor, and sacrifices of soldiers whose names may not be widely known but whose contributions were invaluable.
Students from both the MMS Batch 2024–26 and BMS Batch 2024–27 actively participated in this commemorative activity through research-based group presentations. More than 30 students were involved in this inspiring event.
About the Event
The session commenced with an introduction to the Kargil War and the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Each group of students presented the story of lesser-known war heroes, highlighting their courage and sacrifice.
Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi, Director of MMBGIMS, was present throughout the event and evaluated each group based on their research, presentation skills, emotional impact, and the respectfulness of their tribute.
