World Water Day
The Community Service Unit along with the Green Club Committee of Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies organised a poster making competition on the occasion of ‘World Water Day’ on March 22, 2024. The event was conducted in the seminar hall. The event began with MMS Sem I student Hrishikesh Thakur welcoming everybody. This was followed by a speech by the Director, Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi. She highlighted the importance of water in our lives, emphasizing how both animals and birds rely on it for survival. There were total of 56 students in the class all were inspired by her speech, their eyes and attention fully engaged.
MMS Sem I student Hrishikesh Thakur, who was anchoring the event focused on the importance of World Water Day, explaining its history and helping everyone understand why it is celebrated. A short clip was shown, depicting the acute water crisis of Bengaluru.
Mr. Aakash Rebello, faculty member and Green Club coordinator, then led the group in a pledge together. Afterward, each group was called on stage one at a time to present their posters. Both faculty and students commended the hard work invested by all the participants. Group photos of all the teams and photos of all the posters were taken
Finally, Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi announced the winners and runners-up within the class. Group 3 secured first place, while Groups 2 and 5 were the runners-up. The evaluation was based on a 10-point scoring system.

Learning: Through the event, students gained a valuable lesson about the importance of water conservation and the practices of using water wisely
Feedback: Students enjoyed the exhibition, appreciating each other’s hard work and effort. The event also inspired them to take a pledge to use water wisely
