Book Review Competition
The Library Committee of Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies celebrated a Vachan Prerna Diwas on 15th October, 2025 as per Government of Maharashtra. We celebrate Vachan Prerna Diwas on the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam to honor his legacy and inspire the habit of reading among students.
The Library Committee organized a Book Review Competition on 15th October 2025 as part of the Vachan Prerna Diwas celebration under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi. The primary objective of observing Vachan Prerna Diwas was to promote a strong reading culture among students. Through reading, students enhanced their vocabulary, comprehension, critical thinking, and communication skills. It also helped them express their ideas more effectively and develop independent thinking—contributing significantly to their academic success and overall personal development.
Celebrating Vachan Prerna Diwas every year bridges the gap between students and Library resources. The students’ book reviews were truly engaging and insightful, capturing the attention of the other students and sparking curiosity about the books they presented.
