Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies (MM BGIMS) is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education to offer the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program.The MCA program is a full-time, two-year postgraduate course divided into four semesters. The program is designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in computer applications, software development, database management, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, and emerging technologies.

The course is open to candidates who have completed or appeared for the final year examination of a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university and fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Government of Maharashtra, State CET Cell, and the competent authorities from time to time.
Admissions to this course are conducted through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) and Institute Level admissions as per the guidelines issued by the State CET Cell, Government of Maharashtra.The MCA curriculum combines strong theoretical foundations with practical learning through laboratory sessions, industry-oriented projects, workshops, internships, and skill development activities. The program aims to develop competent IT professionals capable of meeting the challenges of the rapidly evolving technology industry.

Eligibility

Eligibility

In case the candidate fails to produce the results of the final year examination on or before the date prescribed by DTE, then the admission offered to such candidate is automatically cancelled, and the fees (tuition, development, and other fees) paid by the candidate of the academic year 2026-27 will be forfeited.

“Commissioner, State CET Cell’ is the Competent Authority to conduct the MAH-MCA- CET.

The Competent Authority shall conduct the Online MAH-MCA-CET for admission to the first year/ direct second year (separate division & lateral entry) of a two-year full-time postgraduate degree course in Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Candidates are requested to read the details of CAP carefully and follow the instructions given therein. Documents needed must be submitted by the candidate while attending the CAP.

Syllabus MCA NEP Scheme 2024-25 Final

The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is a two-year (four-semester) professional postgraduate programme designed to meet the growing demand for skilled IT professionals. The programme focuses on software application development, advanced programming, database management, emerging technologies, and research, while developing both technical and managerial competencies.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the curriculum is based on the principles of Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability. It follows an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach and offers flexibility through a combination of Major Mandatory and Major Elective courses, enabling students to choose subjects based on their interests and career aspirations.
