Research Committee of MMBGIMS organised a seminar on Case Study Analysis conducted on Tuesday, 21st July 2026. The objective of the seminar was to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to analyse, develop, and present effective case studies. The session emphasized the practical application of analytical frameworks, problem-solving techniques, and structured case writing.
The resource person, Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi, shared valuable insights into the art of case study development and analysis. Through the inspiring example of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s leadership and strategic decision-making, she demonstrated how historical events can be transformed into impactful case studies for academic and managerial learning.
Dr. Hattangadi explained the key components of a well-structured case study, including:
- Selection of an appropriate Theme and Title
- Preparation of an effective Executive Summary
- Writing the Introduction
- Developing the Background and Context
- Conducting Methodology and Analysis
- Identifying Solutions and Implementation Strategies
- Presenting Results, Findings, and Recommendations
She highlighted the importance of critical thinking, evidence-based analysis, and logical presentation while preparing case studies. Various examples were discussed to help students understand how to identify problems, analyse situations, evaluate alternatives, and propose practical solutions.

The seminar concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students actively participated by raising questions related to selecting suitable case study topics, collecting and analysing data, applying analytical frameworks, and presenting recommendations effectively. Students gained a deeper understanding of how case studies can be used as a powerful tool for learning, research, and decision-making.
Feedback:
Students appreciated the practical approach adopted during the seminar and found the example of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj highly engaging and relevant. They expressed interest in attending additional workshops on advanced case writing, case teaching methodologies, and the use of case studies in research and management education. Total 30 students participated along with research committee.
