Institutional Social Responsibility Committee of MMBGIMS organised a webinar on Drug Free Mumbai 2026 – Mass Anti-Drug Pledge Programme conducted on Tuesday, 21st July 2026. Drug abuse has emerged as one of the most significant social and public health challenges affecting young people across the country. Recognizing the need to educate youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse, the Government of Maharashtra organized the “Drug Free Mumbai 2026 – Mass Anti-Drug Pledge Programme” on 30th July 2026 through an official live webcast.
The initiative aimed to create awareness among students, teachers, educational institutions, and society regarding the prevention of drug addiction while encouraging everyone to become active contributors towards building a healthy, safe, and drug-free Maharashtra.
The institution hosted a live webcast featuring the participation of 30 students and 17 faculty members. Attendees collectively took the Mass Anti-Drug Pledge, pledging to maintain a drug-free lifestyle and encourage others to do the same.
Objectives of the Programme
- To create awareness about the dangers of drug and substance abuse.
- To motivate students to stay away from drugs and other addictive substances.
- To promote a healthy, disciplined, and responsible lifestyle among youth.
- To encourage collective participation in building a drug-free society.
The programme commenced at 10:30 a.m. through the official Government of Maharashtra webcast platform.
The session began with an introduction to the Drug Free Mumbai 2026 Campaign, highlighting the growing concern of substance abuse among young people and emphasizing the importance of awareness, prevention, and community involvement.
The dignitaries addressed the participants and stressed that drug addiction not only affects an individual’s physical and mental health but also destroys families, careers, and society. The speakers appealed to students to stay away from drugs, avoid negative influences, and contribute positively towards society.

The speakers encouraged educational institutions to organize continuous awareness programmes, counselling sessions, seminars, workshops, and community outreach activities to prevent substance abuse among youth.
Mass Anti-Drug Pledge
One of the major highlights of the programme was the administration of the Mass Anti-Drug Pledge.
All participants solemnly pledged that they would:
- Never consume drugs or addictive substances.
- Stay away from all forms of addiction.
- Spread awareness regarding the harmful effects of drugs.
- Encourage friends and family members to remain drug-free.
- Support Government initiatives against drug abuse.
- Contribute towards creating a healthy and addiction-free society.
