The Operations Club in association with IIC of MMBGIMS organized an insightful Online Guest Lecture on “Supply Chain & Logistics” on 21st February 2026 at 2.30 pm through Microsoft Teams. The session was delivered by Mr. Siddharth Shrivastav, an experienced Supply Chain & Logistics professional, who provided students with valuable industry perspectives and practical insights into one of the most critical functions of modern business.
The session focused on understanding the fundamentals of Supply Chain and Logistics, their role in global commerce, and their integration with key business functions such as Finance, Marketing, Production, IT and Human Resources. Students gained an understanding of the complete supply chain journey from sourcing raw materials and manufacturing to distribution and delivery to the end customer.
A major highlight of the session was the discussion on career opportunities in Supply Chain & Logistics. Mr. Shrivastav introduced students to diverse career pathways in Procurement, Freight & Shipping, Warehousing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Analytics and Global Trade Compliance. He also explained the potential career progression from entry-level positions to senior leadership and C-suite roles.
The lecture further explored the impact of Artificial Intelligence, automation and analytics on the future of Supply Chain. Students were encouraged to develop technology-oriented skills such as Advanced Excel, Power BI, Data Analytics and ERP systems, along with professional certifications including APICS, Lean Six Sigma and SAP.
The session concluded with a practical 90-day career roadmap, encouraging students to strengthen their CVs and LinkedIn profiles, pursue relevant certifications, build professional networks and actively seek internships and employment opportunities.
The guest lecture provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving Supply Chain & Logistics landscape and encouraged them to prepare themselves for emerging opportunities in this dynamic sector. It was a valuable industry-academia initiative that connected classroom learning with practical professional insights. Total 20 students attended the session.
