Industrial Visit 12th March 2019 to 17th March 2019
Industrial visits represent an important activity in a management program because it contributes to the achievement of various essential learning outcomes and program objectives. They help in filling gaps in the syllabus coverage too. Periodic industrial visits are an integral part of the management course pedagogy.
The visits are planned for cordial interactions with the industry champions in form of questions and answers. Questionnaires, schedules and survey forms are used for collecting data for research which enables them to prepare project reports. The pre-visit and post-visit surveys are aimed at priming the minds of students by gauging the level of satisfaction, and assessing the level of retention of knowledge respectively.
Our students visited Jodhpur and Jaisalmer from 12th March to 17th March 2019. The students visited following companies:
Varun Beverages Ltd: The Company has made a name for itself in the list of top suppliers of Beverages in India. The supplier company is located in Jodhpur, and is one of the leading sellers of listed products. The company manufactures Pepsi cold drink, Mexican Pepsi cold drink in Jodhpur.
News 24: it is a 24-hour Hindi news television channel owned by B.A.G. Films and Media Limited. It was established in 2007 and it is free-to-air channel in India. The students and faculties’ experienced live news presentation in the studio; our students and faculties gave live interview on the channel about their Industrial Visit which was aired on 14th March 2019.
Saras Dairy: The “Feeder Balancing Dairy” Jodhpur is located on the out skirts of Jodhpur city in Heavy Industrial Area. The dairy is famous for its milk products all over India and is an exporter to Euro countries.
Site seeing: The group also visited some of the famous tourist spots like the famous Kuldhara Village which is located twenty kilometers to the west of Jaisalmer; this village was established around the 13th century, it was once a prosperous village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. It was abandoned by the early 19th century for unknown reasons. The next destination of visit was Umaid Bhawan Palace, located in Jodhpur; it is one of the world’s largest private residences. A part of the palace is managed by Taj Hotels. The palace has 347 rooms and is the principal residence of the former Jodhpur royal family. A part of the palace is a museum.
The trip couldn’t conclude without Desserts Safari. The Desserts are the highlight of Rajasthan, and the best way to experience such beauty is via a camel safari and Jeep Safari. Camel safari is nothing less than thrilling, exciting and an altogether fabulous way to get a taste of the rural desert life, as well as immerse in the local culture. The students enjoyed both camel safari as well as jeep safari. They enjoyed staying in tents surrounded by acres of nothing but raw nature, belly dance, barbeque, cultural performance, bonfire and Jam session.
