Investor Education Workshop Organized by SEBI
On Tuesday, 2nd April 2019 a visit for MMS students who have opted for Finance specialization was organized to SEBI Bhavan, Bandra Kurla Complex between 10.00 am – 12.15 noon. It was workshop on the topic “Role of SEBI in investor protection and awareness” There were total 55 participants from BGIMS and Jaihind College. The instructor was Dr. Deepa Dixit – AGM, made the workshop very interactive.
Topics such as conceptual framework of SEBI, investment process, risks of investment and the common mistakes made by investors, risk and return, fundamental analysis, types of mutual funds etc were covered. Dr. Dixit also spoke about establishment of SEBI in 1992; SEBI is the regulatory authority in India established under Section 3 of SEBI Act to protect the interests of the investors in securities and to promote the development of, and to regulate, the securities market and for matters connected therewith and incidental thereto. Role of SEBI in regulating the primary market for securities etc, the role played by SAT (Security Applet Tribune) and the processes handled by SAT.
Prof. CA Santosh Ghag of Jaihind College has organized today’s session. He is a member of Maratha Mandir Managing Committee.
The students and faculties gained in-depth knowledge and clarity on various investment products; our students asked relevant conceptual questions and got clear answers from the instructor.
