Students under the CSR committee of Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies volunteered in one of the projects of Project Mumbai. Project Mumbai is a Not for Profit Organization. Project Mumbai, whose tag line is Mumbai Ke Liye Kuchh bhi Karega–is a 22 months old. Project Mumbai is working on several projects in the areas of environment, governance, civic empowerment, community volunteering, healthcare, mobility, safety and security.The United Nations awarded Shishir Joshi-led Project Mumbai with the Social Development Goal (SDG) Solidarity Action Award 2020, in recognition of the humanitarian contribution to the fight against COVID 19.
12 students of MMS, SEM-III were mentored by the Director, Dr. Vidya Hattangadi and Prof. Jessica Menezes to volunteer in “Wall painting project” at Santacruz West Railway Station of Project Mumbai. The aim was to beautify the station and make it a better place for all travellers. The Theme of the painting was to promote the Indian Art. The project began on September 16th, 2020 and ended on September 19th, 2020. The volunteers co-ordinated with the entire team and completed the project in 3 days.
