Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies hosted an International Conference on “Resilience & Reinvention for Sustainability of Business World” on Saturday, 29th March 2025, conducted in hybrid mode and sponsored by Quick Developers.
The conference commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, followed by the Maratha Mandir prayer. Director Prof. Dr. Vidya Hattangadi extended a warm welcome to Dr. Shivaji Bhosle, the esteemed Vice President of Maratha Mandir, and addressed the audience. She highlighted the significance of the conference theme and expressed her gratitude to Mr. Anil Navrange for his partial sponsorship of the event. The online papers were judged by Mr. Robin Banerjee and Mr. Ashish Chandak the offline papers were judged by CA Abhijit Deshmukh and Dr. Ajit Salvi.
Brief profile of the Judges:
Mr. Robin Banerjee is currently serving as a Director at IMICL Dighi Maritime Ltd., as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Platinum Industries Ltd., as a Director at Nucleon Research Pvt Ltd., as a Director at The Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India, as a Director at Firdose Robin & Malia LLP. He is also a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, a Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and a Member of The Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. Mr. Banerjee completed his graduation from the University of Calcutta. In his former positions, Mr. Banerjee worked as an Executive Director-Finance at Thomas Cook (India) Ltd., as an Executive Director at Essar Steel India Ltd., as the CFO, Director & Deputy Managing Director at Bilcare Ltd., as the Group Chief Financial Officer & Director at Suzlon Energy Ltd., as an Independent Non-Executive Director at Rossari Biotech Ltd., as an Independent Non-Executive Director at VIP Clothing Ltd., and as the President at Caprihans India Ltd. A Chartered Accountant by profession, CA Abhijeet Deshmukh is a Partner at M/s. Sanjay Rane & Associates, a reputed Chartered Accountants firm known for its excellence in financial consulting, auditing, and corporate advisory. Committed to continuous learning and professional growth, he has further honed his leadership and strategic management skills by completing an Executive MBA program from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. With extensive experience in finance, taxation, compliance, and business strategy, CA Abhijeet Deshmukh has been instrumental in driving excellence within both the corporate and academic spheres. Currently serving as the Head of Fraud Risk Management & AML at YES BANK, Mr. Ashish has a diverse background having worked with renowned institutions such as ICICI Venture, IDFC, L&T Finance Ltd, and Thermax. Holding an MBA in Finance from the Faculty of Management Studies, M.S. University, Baroda, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Instrumentation from the Faculty of Technology and Engineering, M.S. University, Baroda, he brings a wealth of expertise to his roles. Dr. Ajit Vishnu Salvi, Director (RCUES of AIILSG, Mumbai), Former Deputy Chief Engineer, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), Expert in Sewerage Infrastructure, Management Development, Environment and Waste Management. With qualifications including D.M.E., B.E. (Production), MBA (HRM), and a Ph.D. in Management, he focuses on environmental issues. Dr. Salvi contributes to World Bank projects, publishes research papers, and serves as a resource person for government missions like AMRUT and NULM. He trains engineers and officials, conducts management development programs, and influences educational policies as a board member at SNDT University. His lectures at esteemed institutions like Mumbai IIT and AIILSG (All India Institute of Local Self Government) highlight his national and international impact.

About the programme:
The conference featured Mr. Robin Banerjee as the keynote speaker, who spoke on the topic of “Resilience & Reinvention for Sustainability of Business World.” A total of 54 research papers were received, with 33 papers presented by academicians, research scholars, industry experts, and students from around the globe. Of these, 15 were presented offline and 18 online. Participants included individuals from across Mumbai, as well as researchers from Bihar, Chennai, and international participants from Qatar, Poland, Italy, South Africa, and the USA.
The judges praised the researchers for the relevance and depth of their topics, highlighting the importance of the conference’s theme in today’s business landscape. They also encouraged more participation in future events, acknowledging the efforts and creativity demonstrated by all presenters.

- Second Prize: Mr. Bins Maniyattu Mathew and Mr. Faisal Memon, Rs. 2,000, for their paper titled “The Influence of Social Media Personalities on Gen Z’s Purchase Intentions: A Thematic Analysis of Influencer Appeal.”
Winners of the Online Presentations:
- First Prize: Ms. Nondumiso Mabece, Rs. 3,000, for her paper titled “How Should Organizations Utilize Their Brand and Marketing Resources to Prepare for Change in a VUCA World?”
- Second Prize: Mr. Kanzade Rajesh Sambhappa and Dr. Dayma Brijmohan R., Rs. 2,000, for their paper titled “Exploring Futuristic Trends in Mobile Marketing: Reinventing Business Strategies for Long-term Sustainability in the Digital Era.”
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the Director and the organizing committee. Total 59 students were the audience for the programme and 10 staff members.

The presented papers will be published in the peer-reviewed journal NRJHRM (ISSN: 2394-059X, Impact Factor: 7.2).
