World Water Day
Introduction
The Green Club Committee of MMBGIMS organized a digital initiative to mark World Water Day on 24th March 2025 for students of MMS Batch 2024–26, Semester II.
In alignment with the theme “Glacier Preservation,” this event aimed to raise awareness about the urgent need to conserve glaciers, which are a crucial source of fresh water. Students were encouraged to participate creatively through the preparation and submission of digital posters, thereby spreading the message of water conservation in a visually impactful way.
Participants designed digital posters using Canva in the specified Instagram post format
(1080 x 1350 px). Posters were submitted via a link shared on MS Teams by 22nd March 2025.
Each submission showcased the students’ creativity, environmental awareness, and concern for global issues. The posters included facts, slogans, and illustrations that emphasized the significance of glacier preservation and the broader topic of water conservation
Learning and Feedback
Students learned the importance of glaciers in the global water cycle and the threats posed by climate change. The creative nature of the activity allowed them to reflect on how visual communication can play a role in advocacy and awareness.
Feedback was encouraging, with students appreciating the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to an environmental cause while developing their design and presentation skills
Conclusion
The World Water Day Digital Poster Activity was a meaningful initiative organized by the Green Club Committee. It successfully combined environmental education with student creativity and helped spread awareness about glacier preservation in a modern, tech-enabled manner.
