About the Event
The Student Development Committee of Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies (MMBGIMS) organized an International Yoga Day event on 21st June 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the institute premises. The session was conducted by the esteemed Dr. Manoj Varade, a renowned yoga practitioner and certified wellness coach. The event commenced with a welcome address, followed by a brief yet insightful speech on the significance of Yoga Day, especially in today’s stressful and fast-paced lifestyle.
Dr. Varade addressed the audience, highlighting the origin and philosophy of yoga. He explained how yoga is not just a form of physical exercise but a discipline that promotes self-awareness, mindfulness, and spiritual growth. He also spoke about the importance of aligning body, breath, and mind, which is the core principle of yogic practices.
During the session, he guided the participants through a series of effective yoga asanas, including Tadasana (Mountain Pose), Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), and Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend).
