Guest session on Cyber Security Awareness – Protecting Yourself in the Digital Age
Maratha Mandir’s Babasaheb Gawde Institute of Management Studies organized a guest session on “Cyber Security Awareness – Protecting Yourself in the Digital Age” on 3rd February 2026.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Savita Govilkar, an IT professional and cyber security expert. She explained the meaning, layers, and importance of cyber security in today’s digital world.
Various types of cybercrimes such as phishing, spoofing, malware, and cyberbullying were discussed. The impact of cybercrime on the economy, children, and adults was highlighted through real-life cases. Students were guided on safe online practices, do’s and don’ts, and preventive measures.
An interactive Q&A session addressed concerns on online safety and career opportunities in cyber security. The session was informative, engaging, and beneficial for building digital awareness among students.
