Green Club of MMBGIMS organised a seminar on Water Conservation Day 2026 – on Friday, 21st August 2026. Water scarcity has emerged as one of the most significant environmental challenges affecting populations across the globe. Recognizing the need to educate youth about the vital importance of resource management, the institute organized this seminar centred around the core theme of “WATER SECURITY 2030”
The initiative aimed to create awareness among students, teachers, educational institutions, and society regarding the prevention of water wastage while encouraging everyone to become active contributors towards building a sustainable and water-secure future. We had in all 27 students and 7 staff in all present for the event.
Objectives of the Programme
- To create awareness about the critical need for water conservation and sustainable usage.
- To motivate students to integrate the principles of “SAVE WATER | SECURE TOMORROW | SUSTAIN OUR FUTURE” into their daily lives.
- To promote a healthy, disciplined, and responsible lifestyle among youth regarding environmental stewardship.
- To encourage collective participation in building a secure environment under the vision of “WATER TODAY LIFE TOMORROW”
The programme commenced at 1.00 pm in room 201. The session began with an introduction to the Water Security 2030 Campaign, highlighting the growing concern of water depletion and emphasizing the importance of awareness, prevention, and community involvement. Continuing that we had a Debate competition arranged for the kids where in two topics were given to them and they had to discuss it as debate. Following the debate competition, we had a small guest session arranged for the students by Prof Kanchan Kedari wherein she her topic was “WATER SECURITY 2030 – WHERE EVERY DROP COUNTS”.
The speaker addressed the students and stressed that neglecting water conservation not only affects our immediate environment but also destroys future sustainability. The speakers appealed to students to lead by example and contribute positively towards society by adopting the mindset that “Small actions today, big impact tomorrow”.

The participants appreciated the initiative undertaken by the institute. Students expressed that the programme:
- Increased their awareness about the urgency of water conservation.
- Motivated them to minimize water wastage.
- Helped them understand the social responsibility of every citizen.
- Encouraged them to spread awareness among their families and communities.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, leaving everyone with the realization that achieving ‘Water Security 2030’ begins with a collective commitment to saving every single drop today to secure our tomorrow.
The event primarily aligns with PO4 by instilling a strong awareness of environmental sustainability and the ethical imperative of resource conservation among future managers.
